Over het evenement

Join us for a discussion about anxiety, what it is and tools for managing it.

Anxiety is a response from our nervous system, usually to unspecific fears or certain triggers. Short periods of anxiety are normal and part of life. For example during an exam period or an unusual stress period. However, persistent anxiety can truly limit us and compromise our quality of life. It can keep us from doing the things we enjoy and ultimately be detrimental to our health due to the pro-longed high levels of cortisol.

In this series of 'the living room chats', we discuss the idea of anxiety and how it manifests in various ways depending mostly on life experiences. The topic will be discussed from 3 different aspects by the following guest speakers:

Rawia Liverpool, Multicultural Transactional Analysis Counsellor & NLP Master Practitioner. She offers individual consultations at her practice Recipes4Change on issues relating to big life transitions, anxiety and overwhelm, communication and self-confidence. Being female and mixed race, she understands and provides support on issues relating to discrimination, identity and belonging. In this presentation, Rawia will bring to our awareness how our personal history, personality and relational patterns may be contributing to our anxiety. You can find our more about Rawia on her website: Recipes4Change

Sandra Quist is the Founder and Director of The Hague Natural Health Centre and a practicing homeopath. In her practice, she regularly works with clients who sometimes do not realise they are suffering from anxiety and have merely booked an appointment because the anxiety is manifesting in the form of physical complaints. In this discussion, she will discuss the use of natural remedies such as Flower Essences, Tissue Salts and of course homeopathic remedies that can be used for acute anxiety but also chronic anxiety. You can read more about Sandra at her website: SandraDelgadoQuist

Annette Nilsson works as a Life Coach adding horse therapy to her sessions. Annette is passionate about helping people in their personal development. She will discuss why horses are perfect partners  in helping people with anxiety. Horses can help regulate the nervous  system and through a non-judgmental connection, we can learn to regulate  our response to anxiety, and find more peace within ourselves. Next to  explaining about the nervous system and co-regulation through horses,  Annette will share some simple tools which can help aleviate anxiety.
