Foot reflexology has a rich history that goes back to ancient cultures such as China, India and Egypt. In these cultures it was already assumed 4000 years ago that certain points on the feet correspond to different organs and systems in the body. In Europe and Russia a form of reflexology was known since the 14th century. The (re)discovery of foot reflexology in the West took place in the early 1900s and was then called zone therapy.
VoetreflexPlus™ is a natural healing method with a holistic character, it uses the feet as an entrance for treating the entire body and mind. It is a complementary therapy that combines knowledge and skills from regular medicine, natural medicine, energy medicine, Western and traditional Chinese foot reflexology. These elements complement each other and offer more possibilities to treat complaints with results. This immediately explains the “Plus” in VoetreflexPlus™ therapy.
Western foot reflexology is based on the principle that the entire body is reflected in the feet.

The feet contain reflex zones that are connected to organs, muscles, joints and tissues in our body. By massaging certain reflex zones on the feet, the flow of blood, lymph and energy is improved. This ensures that nutrients are better supplied to organs and tissues and that waste products are removed more quickly and effectively. This supports and stimulates the body's self-healing capacity, resulting in more balance in the body. Balance in the body leads to better health, vitality and relaxation of body and mind.
In addition to reflex zones, Chinese foot reflexology works with meridians, on which acupuncture points are located. It is based on energy (Qi) that flows through our body via meridians. When the energy cannot flow properly through the meridians due to a blockage or disruption, physical, mental or emotional complaints arise. By massaging specific meridians and acupuncture points with gentle pressure, blockages and disruptions can be removed and the energy can flow again, allowing the body to regain its balance. With this massage technique, meridians and acupuncture points are massaged on the feet and lower legs and sometimes also on the hands and arms.
Another form of VoetreflexPlus™ is energetic massage. This involves massaging with very gentle pressure or in the aura layers (physical, emotional, mental, spiritual). These massages have a strong effect on the mind and are very soothing.
Foot reflexology therapy is used for both acute and chronic complaints and conditions. The goal is to address the underlying cause of the complaint.
Of course, you do not have to have any complaints for treatment. Foot reflexology has a strong preventive effect and it is wonderful to enjoy a relaxing foot reflexology massage!
